Vostrikov’s Academy of Ballet welcomes new students of all ages. Dancers must receive class placement before enrolling in Junior, Intermediate, or Advanced level classes and if enrolling in beginning level classes after September 30th.

Programs of Study

Young Children’s Program

VAB classes for children ages 3 to 7 provide a nurturing atmosphere that encourages young dancers to express themselves through their innate love of music and movement. The classes focus on basic skills, coordination, and musicality, laying an excellent foundation for VAB's progressive dance training program.

Creative Movement (~age 2.5-4.0) - Fr 4:30-5:30

Pre-Ballet/Pre-Tap (~age 3.5-5) - Tues 4:30-5:30

Beginning Ballet (~age 5-9)

Beg Ballet 1 (age 5 by Sep 30)- Wed 4:30-5:30

Beg Ballet 2A (once a week) - Mon 4:30-5:30

Beg Ballet 2B & 2C (2x/week) - M & W 4:30-5:30

Beginning Tap (~ age 5+) - Tuesday 5:30-6:15

Beginning Jazz (~ age 6+) - Thursday 4:30-5:30

Beg Lyrical/Contemporary (~age 6+) Fr 5:30-6:30 ***First class will meet Saturday Aug 29 from 10:30-11:30. All other classes will be Fridays 5:30-6:30.***

Hip-hop 1 (~ age 5+) - Friday 4:30-5:30

Interested in a trial session? We offer trial options for all beginning level classes. Trial sessions are 4 weeks (with one tuition installment.) If you decide to continue after the 4-week trial, enrollment is for the remainder of the year. After the 4 weeks, please notify us if you wish to discontinue.

Junior Ballet (2 days/week) - Mon & Wed 5:30-6:30

Beginning Pointe:(by invitation) TBD

Junior Lyrical/Contemporary - Fr 6:30-7:30 ***First class will meet Saturday Aug 29 from 11230-11:30. All other classes will be Fridays 6:30-7:30.***

Junior Jazz -Thursday 5:30pm-6:30pm

Junior Tap -Tuesday 6:30pm-7 :30pm

Hip-hop 2 - Tuesday 4:30-5:30

Junior level classes continue the dance education of students who have completed the Beginning level or have a similar level of training or ability. Dancers expand upon the fundamentals they have learned and continue to develop technique, musicality, and artistry.

Intermediate and Advanced Levels

Advanced Ballet (2 days/week) Monday & Wednesday 6:30-8:00

Conditioning Monday 5:30-6:30 (Highly recommended for all intermediate to advanced dancers to Increase muscle strength, balance, flexibility, and endurance to improve dance technique and decrease risk of injury.)

Modern - Tuesday 5:30-6:45

Intermediate Jazz - Tuesday 6:45-8:15

Advanced Jazz Tuesday 6:45-8:15

Int Lyrical/Contemporary Thursday 4:30-5:30

Adult Classes

Beginning Adult Ballet- Fridays 4:30-5:30 (Students age 16+ with limited or no prior experience)- First class 09/04/2026

Intermediate Adult Ballet-Fridays 5:30-6:30 (Students age 18+ with some prior ballet experience) First class 09/04/2026

Adult Conditioning TBD

Tuition: $20/class when enrolled through the Registration Portal for regular attendance or $22/class drop-in fee

Preferred payment method for drop-in is cash or check.

If you wish to pay for drop-in using a credit or debit card, please create an account through the Registration Portal but do not register for classes.

Performance Opportunities

Ballet students enrolled in Beginning Ballet through Advanced Ballet perform in the annual production of the Nutcracker.

All academy students perform in the annual Spring Performance, held in late May or early June.

Ballet dancers ages 8+ are encouraged to audition for the Virginia Youth Ballet children’s story ballets, typically performed in October and March.
