Saturday, August 20th 10:00 am 11:00am – Virginia Youth Ballet audition for fall children’s production (tentatively Snow White– (Ballet students Ages 8+ encouraged to audition) Performances will be Friday October 7 (school shows during the day), Saturday October 8 (afternoon and evening), Sunday October 9th (afternoon)

Monday, August 22nd VYB Rehearsals for Fall Ballet Begin (Not all dancers will be needed this early. Some may not start for a week or two.)

Tuesday September 6th: CLASSES BEGIN

October 7th, 8th, 9th- Virginia Youth Ballet Fall Children’s Ballet Performances (Friday 9:00 am,11:00 am, 1:00 pm shows designated for school audiences. Saturday 2:00 pm & 7:00 pm and Sunday 2:00 pm performances are public performances.)

Winter break: All classes not in Nutcracker will break after December 15, 2022-Classes that perform in Nutcracker will end at the completion of Nutcracker, Monday, December 19, 2023

Saturday, January 7, 2023, 10am: VYB March Children’s Ballet, Beauty and the Beast, audition (Ballet students ages 8 years and older may audition)

April 21, 22, 23: VYB Children’s Ballet Performances, Beauty and the Beast. (not all academy dancers are in this production, only dancers who auditioned) Note that Friday April 21st are school shows; April 21st and April 22nd are public performances.

June 10, 2023: VAB Spring Performance Stage Rehearsal at Handley High School (All Academy Classes)

June 11th, 2023, 2:00 pm: VAB Spring Performance (All Academy Classes)

* Nutcracker and Spring Performances are typically performed at a local public school auditorium and dates are subject to approval by Winchester or Frederick County School Boards according to venue availability. We cannot apply for dates until the school term begins. If we are unable to rent local school venue, we will perform in our in-home theater.

THE ACADEMY WILL BE CLOSED THE FOLLOWING DATES
Thanksgiving Break- November 23-27, 2021 (Nutcracker Performances may be this weekend, in which case ballet students in Level Ballet 1 and up will perform. All other classes will not be in session)

Winter Break- December 19, 2022-January 2, 2023 (Classes resume Tuesday January 3, 2023)

Spring Break – April 7-14, 2023

Apple Blossom- May 4-7, 2023
